On the 23rd of June, 30 board members of the logistics service provider H.Essers stood at the starting line of the Port of Antwerp Triathlon. As such, the management sought to set a good example. 77 other colleagues also took up the challenge and participated in the quarter triathlon or the Fun Race. The event became a first highlight of the brand-new wellbeing project called Fit2Grow. A unique experience and a more than successful teambuilding!
On the 23rd of June, 30 board members of H.Essers stood at the starting line of the Port of Antwerp Triathlon. By doing so, the management sought to set a good example at the launch of Fit2Grow, an integrated wellbeing project that focuses on a healthier lifestyle for every individual and that supports the long-term growth of H.Essers. Fit2Grow works through a dedicated online platform at H.Essers. It has four key topics: nutrition, exercise, sleep and mental wellbeing. All board members – who were trained for the race during half a year – finished the quarter triathlon, individually or as part of a relay team.
77 other employees also took up the challenge and participated in the quarter triathlon or the Fun Race. They got professional support from an Energy Lab coach during a collective running training and an open water swimming training. The workshop ‘How to Triathlon’ was another part of their preparation.
The Port of Antwerp Triathlon Festival was an unforgettable experience for the 107 participants (most of which had never participated in a triathlon) and more than 300 supporters. People that didn’t exercise before, were motivated to be more active, while sportier types got the chance to go beyond their limits. As such, the event was a powerful kick-off for Fit2Grow!
